RRR Stardust x RDPY Kerrigan

RRR Stardust x RDPY Kerrigan
Black Varigated DU w/headspot x Black Capped Dalmation w/headspot
Paired on October 26th

Expecting 100% dumbo and smoothcoat. Colors are most likely black. Could see some blues. Very very small chance of other colors. Markings include dalmation, patched, and varigated, with the potential for downunder markings to go with those options. There should also be headspots.

If Stardust conceived within 24hrs of being put with Kerrigan, she is due the 19th. She's looking relatively bottom heavy, so I suspect if she's not due within the next couple of days, it won't be much longer. The body structure of the girls in this line appears to make it difficult to decide if they have baby pudge.

I'm hoping Astrid is also pregnant, but she's proving a slow mom. She doesn't seem to be showing much if any.

Stardust has earned the nickname Blimpy lol Poor thing is huge. She has bloomed the lst couple of days, so well in fact that she can't get into her cuddle tunnel! I found her asleep with an obvious bulge on either side of her from her belly. She looks like she'd melted into the bedding. No nesting behavior yet, but sometimes they don't build til they have the babies.

Fingers crossed for a good litter and no difficulties for Stardust!

Stardust is in labor as I type. She gave birth to her first pup about 2 minutes past midnight. She's cleaning it and being very diligent. So far no more, but she's obviously not done. I'm watching her have another contraction now.

I'll update tomorrow with a tentative sex count.

Welcome Rodere Rattery's latest downunder litter!
Born on November 22nd, 2010!

Stardust's kiddos are growing well. There are 3 boys and 4 girls. All the girls are reserved, but there is a pair of boys available.

We may have an unfortunate developmental flaw or potentially a genetic flaw in the line. It has affected a majority of the babies eye development, but one that will not affect their quality of life or their great pet potential. We are watching this closely and doing what we can to figure it out. I've been speaking in great length with other breeders. I'm glad to say we have the best genetics whiz around helping us.

We aren't sure on colors just yet, but there are three light eyed babies. Either we have Russian doves or possibly Triple Dilutes. We'll know more once they open their eyes.

Most markings are varigated with headspots. One appears to literally have an all white head! Which should look interesting. Perhaps a varigated possum face?

Stardust has gifted us with some lovely babies that will likely be stunning!

We are accepting one more reservation with this litter, for a pair of boys.

I attempted to update the website today, but it began being difficult before I was finished.

I did manage to get the pedigree and Stardust's litter page done.

First pictures have been uploaded to their photo album. We're hoping to update the website soon, if it'll let us!

Stardust and her kiddos are doing fine. They're a little thinner than I'd like, so I have been supplementing Stardust with goats milk and more scrambled eggs. She's greatful for the extra food, but more for greedy reasons than hunger lol

She still won't let me touch her babies with her in the cage. I have to remove her first. Her aunt Sorcha was very protective as well. We've come to an understanding though. She gets alone time with a treat and I handle the babies. Of course she furiously puts them back just so in her nest and cleans them after I put her back.

We have all black and two Russian doves. It looks very similar to Russian beige, but its a cleaner more orangey color to me.

All babies from this litter are reserved. The previously mentioned eye issue is limited to only two babies. We had originally thought 4 were affected. Its very hard to tell when they are smaller than your thumb! Their eyes are beginning to open now.
